Features Spacers isolate carburetor from manifold, preventing horsepower-robbing heat transfer while also increasing air flow due to the increase in distance from the bottom of the carburetor to the manifold plenum. Spacers are precision CNC-machined in the U.S. from a state-of-the-art polymer compound and can withstand temperatures up to 400deg F. Available in open or four hole versions for popular 4150 and 4500 Holley style carburetors in 1/2 inch, 1 inch and 2 inch thicknesses. Chevy Malibu Eco hybrid is a tough sell
Mon, 28 Jan 2013Most prospective Chevrolet Malibu buyers at Castle Chevrolet in suburban Chicago quickly decide that they don't want to pay nearly $3,000 more for the Eco mild-hybrid version. "For most people, it's hard to justify the extra money based on the extra fuel economy" of a combined 3 mpg more than the base model, says Jeff Tuckman, the dealership's inventory manager. "You've got the base LS model sitting next to it that's just as nice and luxurious." It's a problem flagged by many Chevy dealers.
Giugiaro honored in Korean ceremony
Thu, 15 Dec 2011Giorgetto Giugiaro has received honors from the South Korean Government for his contribution to the nation's fledgling automotive industry. In a ceremony in Seoul, Giugiaro received the prestigious 'Order of Merit' from the President of the Republic of Korea, Lee Myung-bak. The relationship between Italdesign Giugiaro and Korea stretches back to the 1970s, a period of significant growth for the Korean nation, stifled only by its lackluster automotive industry. It fell to the Italian designer to invigorate an industry that survived on reassembling and rebranding foreign domestic models. Giugiaro's solution was the simple Hyundai Pony.
Canadian Grand Prix: Vettel takes pole ahead of Hamilton
Sat, 08 Jun 2013Hamilton’s Mercedes (pictured) is in 2nd place for tomorrow’s Canadian Grand Prix Lewis Hamilton may have managed to make it four front rows in a succession, but it’s Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel who has taken pole position in a rain soaked Montreal for tomorrow’s 2013 F1 Canadian Grand Prix. Early on in qualifying Hamilton and Rosberg dominated in the Mercedes, but the Red Bulls started to show their pace and in Q2 they were at the top of the leaderboard. Felipe Massa managed to crash in Q2 and Button, held up in the pit lane whilst the accident was cleared, couldn’t manage to get across the start-finish line in time to do another lap, crashing out in Q2 and 12th palce on tomorrow’s grid.
