Toyota GT86 Drift Sprint with Keiichi Tsuchiya
Mon, 23 Jul 2012The Toyota GT86 gets another dose of ‘Cheap Fun’ PR with the Drift Sprint competition featuring Keiichi Tsuchiya. Keiichi Tsuchiya is the ‘Drift King’ with his Toyota AE86 sliding and squirming in balletic slides as he makes it dance in a way cars just don’t. So it makes sense to get Keiichi Tsuchiya in to the driving seat of the new Toyota GT86 to show that an affordable sports car from Toyota can be a whole bunch of fun in ways that more powerful cars just aren’t.
New BMW website shows off ActiveE data
Thu, 11 Apr 2013BMW launched a new website Thursday that presents range, cost savings and environmental impact data taken from 700 ActiveE drivers (dubbed “Electronauts” by BMW … really guys?) to inform consumers about the potential savings of electric vehicles. Titled the "Electronaut Effect," BMW's BMWActivatetheFuture.com, is dedicated to the ActiveE drivers, providing even more data and allowing the drivers to compare a variety of data, including the average number of charges each car requires per day and how performance varies from the East Coast to the west. Through this site, ActiveE drivers can also see which "Electronauts" are in the top 25 based on a specified set of data points, for instance who has traveled the most miles and who has charged the vehicle the least.
Ian Callum’s hot-rod love affair: his 1932 Ford Hi-Boy Coupe
Thu, 28 Aug 2014By Tim Pollard Motoring Issues 28 August 2014 16:32 Jaguar design director Ian Callum unveiled his new-for-2014 Mk2 today – but this is far from his first hot-rod influenced car. Back in February 2007, CAR ran a beautiful seven-page feature on Callum’s own project at the time: a lovingly restored 1932 Ford hot-rod. He’s been a fan of the rodding scene forever and back in 2001 he met Jon Golding of Home Grown Hot Rods.
