The alternator is in excellent condition and does not appear to have ever been used, however  I am not certain if it is new or rebuilt.   It was tested at O'reillys and it tested good.  Shaft is very tight with no play and spins smooth.  It came off of a 2003 VW Jetta with a 2.0 engine, this alternator will fit a range of VW engines.   I guarantee this to alternator to be in excellent working order.
