BMW ActiveHybrid 5: BMW has another crack at Hybrid

BMW ActiveHybrid 5 - arrives in the UK February 2012 BMW’s Hybrid efforts to date haven’t been exactly an unmitigated success, with the BMW ActiveHybrid X6 not even making it to the UK before it was dropped. But now they’re having another crack at eco-cars with the BMW ActiveHybrid 5, a hybrid version of the latest 5-Series. The ActiveHybrid 5 gets a 302bhp twin-turbo six-cylinder in-line petrol – a good start – and throws in to the mix a 53bhp electric motor.

Renault Twizy Lab Design contest winners

The winners of Renault Z.E's Twizy Lab Design contest have been announced. The competition, which called for new and original concept designs for the Renault ZE Twizy's plastic body panels, was won by Maria Rosaria. Her submission, 'Candy', explores the use of multiple colors spread over a the Twizy's main panels, turning them into an artist's canvas.

So when Diesel Car Magazine proclaims its winners each year it’s something car buyers are likely to take notice of next time they’re in the market for a new car, so it’s worth having a look at what came out on top. The VW Golf Mk 7 TDI took the gong for the best diesel car of 2013 (as well as best Medium diesel car), snatching the award out of the hands of Land Rover”s Range Rover Evoque, which won in 2012 (and wins best crossover diesel this year).
