Ford gets another NO on Volvo

Thu, 05 Feb 2009

And the beat goes on… Ford has been trawling the world’s car manufacturers (and Governments) for what seems like forever, in an increasingly desperate attempt to off-load its Swedish subsidiary, Volvo. They appear to have tried everyone from the Swedish Government to BMW and Mercedes, with a fair dose of Chinese firms in between (has Ford offered to sell it to you yet? Don’t worry, it won’t be long!) And now Reuters are reporting that yet another Chinese Car Co has declined the offer.

Peugeot 308 (2014) first pictures of Peugeot's new Focus-fighter

Mon, 13 May 2013

This is Peugeot's all-new family hatchback: the 308. Yep, that's right: Peugeot isn't rolling over to the '309' moniker, but don't be fooled: the new 308's design looks worlds apart from the off-the-pace outgoing car. Sticking with the same model names for all future cars will simplify the range for consumers, reckons Peugeot: it's a demonstration of the fightback to rebuild the brand's image (think Ford ditching the 'Escort' badge and sticking with 'Focus' instead). The new 308 is 140kg lighter than before, more economical and gets a totally rethought cabin.

Pink Rolls Royce Ghost FAB 1 supports Breast Cancer Care

Mon, 15 Apr 2013

The result is a pink Rolls Royce Ghost EWB put together for the Evans adventure with everything from a pink paint job to hand-embroidered headrests with the Breast Cancer Care pink ribbon motif and pink umbrellas. There’s also ‘FAB1′ treadplates , a pink and cream interior and an uplit Spirit of Ecstasy Rolls Royce has handed the Ghost over to Chris’s FAB1 Million project – and he’s chipped in his FAB 1 number plate – with a plan to raise £1 million for the charity over the next year by offering the pink roller for hire for any special day – from weddings to corporate outings – and for appearances at special events. Jolyon Nash, Rolls Royce Marketing Director, said: When I received the call from Chris Evans to support FAB1 Million, we immediately sprang into action. It’s taken countless hours to create such a special car but every minute spent is absolutely worth it for such a valuable cause.
