Roewe 550 - the next MG?

By Keith Adams Motor Shows 22 April 2008 12:53 The new Roewe 550 unveiled at Beijing this week is Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation’s promising new mid-range hatch, but could yet turn into the next MG saloon - and be built in Europe. Although it doesn’t look like a groundbreaking effort, the Roewe 550 is one of the Beijing motor show’s hottest debutants. Designed as SAIC's successor to the Rover 45, the car has been designed and engineered in Britain by ex-MG Rover engineers.

Morgan celebrates 100 years – and a new model

There aren’t many car makers around the world who have been in business for 100 years, and even fewer that have remained in the same family for all that time. But Morgan, that maker of anachronistic 1930s-style cars, is not only still going strong, it is celebrating its 100 year anniversary in 2009, and is now the only remaining British-owned car maker in existence (aside from the ‘Garden-Shed’ makers). Lotus Evora hits London showroom

Despite the fact that the new Lotus Evora is not due to start delivery until next Summer, Lotus of London, in Park Lane, has this week taken delivery of the first Evora to hit a showroom anywhere in the world, and it will be on show from the 22nd December. The Evora is going to be on display until the 9th January, offering potential buyers, and the terminally nosey, the opportunity to see this exciting new Lotus in the flesh. Finished in Frost White (trendy, but I’m not sure it suits the Evora that well), with a red leather interior, the 2+2 is the first proper new Lotus car for more than a decade.
