THIS LISTING FITS AM-20 PASSENGER CAR REARS ONLY.  IT DOES NOT FIT JEEP REARS.

Eliminate your troublesome stock 2-piece axles with DoctorDiff ONE-PIECE, CUT-TO-FIT 29 spline axle shafts.  Shafts are back oxide plated for corrosion resistance.

Axle package includes 2 1541 high-strength shafts with 5 x 4 1/2" bolt pattern, 1/2" x 2" lug studs (installed), 2 Green sealed ball wheel bearings (shipped loose), 2 lock rings and 2 inner seals (shipped loose).

Cut-to-fit shafts measure 30" (overall length) with 5" of spline which must be trimmed with a chop-saw to the desired length.

REMEMBER, THESE AXLES ARE MADE LONG TO FIT A VARIETY OF AM-20 PASSENGER CAR REARS.  YOU MUST CUT THESE AXLES YOURSELF WITH A CHOP-SAW!

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS:

1.  Measure your original axles from the outside edge of the wheel bearing race (closest to the wheel flange), to the outside edge of the spline.  Transfer this measurement to the new shaft, starting at the inside edge of the bearing journal (the step where the wheel bearing presses against) and cut to length. You must measure BOTH axles.

2.  Because the brake backing plate doubles as a wheel bearing retainer, you must slip the backing plate over the axle shaft BEFORE pressing the wheel bearings and lock-rings on.

3.  Press wheel bearings tight against the axle journal with "RW903CJ" lettering facing AWAY from the axle flange.

**I recommend removing the differential center thrust block, as this is not necessary and it can interfere with axle installation and wheel bearing longevity.

***If your vehicle is equipped with a power-lock (2-piece/bolt together) clutch style twin-grip posi, I recommend cutting the axles 0.1" longer than stock, for maximum spline engagement.  Because of this, you MUST remove the differential thrust buttons.  This involves removing the differential, so you can drive the roll pin out that retains the thrust buttons.

Jaguar XJ & XF get 4WD

Thu, 16 Aug 2012

Jaguar has announced that four wheel drive versions of the Jaguar XJ and Jaguar XF will be available – but not in the UK. Jaguar has long bemoaned the lack of a 4WD platform for their cars, and even blamed such a lack of flexibility for the delay in launching the XF Sportbrake. We’ve been expecting Jaguar to reveal a 4WD version of the XJ for a while (especially as the new Range Rover utilises the same platform) but we didn’t expect a 4WD XF until the next generation XF launches in a couple of years.

Elegance Without the Boast: Glenmoor Gathering keeps gaining significance

Sat, 16 Oct 2010

Founders of the Glenmoor Gathering of Significant Automobiles steered away from the “concours d'elegance” label when they started the thing 16 years ago. That “concours” word escapes their lips now that the annual gathering on the grounds of the Glenmoor Country Club (the centerpiece of a gated community just outside Canton, Ohio) has achieved a certain gravitas. Consider the best in show winner at the Sept.

Honda To Debut Sporty Concepts At Festival Of Speed

Wed, 21 May 2014

VISITORS to this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed in June will be able to get up close and personal with two racy concept cars from Honda. The Japanese firm is using the popular event to showcase its forthcoming Civic Type R hot hatch and second-generation NSX supercar ahead of a 2015 launch programme. As well as getting up close with the new concepts, visitors will get the chance to race them – with the Honda stand turned into a miniature race track for budding drivers to compete with special-edition remote control models.
