A tribute to Ermanno Cressoni
Wed, 06 Jul 2005Last week the car design community suffered a great loss. Ermanno Cressoni or 'Arch' as many of his designers affectionately referred to him, passed away on Thursday 30th June in Milan after battling with cancer for 13 months.'Arch' was a reference in car design and his contribution to our profession was much more important than stated in the press. As Alfa Romeo Centro Stile Director he directed the Alfetta berlina, the famous chrome GTV grille from the early seventies is attributed to him, as is the Giuglietta sedan of the late seventies, the Alfa 33, the 75, and many of the racing Alfas we adore from the late 60s and early 70s.

Wed, 19 May 2010The new June 2010 issue of CAR Magazine kicks off our Supercar World Cup. To coincide with this summer's football tournament, we've launched a tournament of our own – a festival of fast, featuring 2010's most exciting supercars, with everything from the Ferrari 599 GTO to the Aston Martin One-77, with twin tests of the Veyron and SV, and LFA and SLS in between. But we’re also celebrating one very special anniversary.
New Lotus Elite: Top-Down +video
Wed, 13 Oct 2010New Lotus Elite (2014) Top Down I think we’ve just about got over the surprise of a New Lotus Elite dropping from a clear blue sky in the week before the Paris Motor Show. What we still haven’t completely got our heads around is the plethora of models subsequently revealed at the show itself. Yes, we were expecting the new Lotus Esprit – even if we reckoned we might have got that wrong after the New Elite showed up – but we hadn’t reckoned on the new Elan, the new Eterne and the new Elise as well (never mind a City Car concept).
