These where used on all RACE and RALLY cars during the 50's & 60's and into the 70's before there was electric rear defrosters on car rear screens. You might remember then when you were growing up driving around in your Grandpa's car during the winter. These are noted in the BUILD SHEETS of the BMC WORKS MINI COOPERs in PETER BROWNING's book "THE WORKS MINIs". As you can see in older pictures there is on on the back screen of the WORKS MINI COOPER and also on the rear HARDTOP SCREENS of the WORKS MGBs and the WORKS AUSTIN HEALEY 3000s. This is a must have item for anyone trying to recreate the look of the FAMOUS WORKS RALLY CARS. For better reasons in protecting these panels I ship them in mailing tubes. Top Gear Helicopter crashes filming Corvette ZR1 Race (video)
Mon, 11 Feb 2013A helicopter filming a Top Gear episode for the Korean version of the show has crashed while filming a race with a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. We take for granted the stunning aerial shots Top Gear mixes in to its feature pieces. They often look stunning and give a huge sense of scale and drama.
New Lexus IS to debut at 2013 Detroit Auto Show
Wed, 05 Dec 2012The new Lexus IS - previewed at this year’s Paris Motor Show by the Lexus LF-CC Concept – will debut at the Detroit Auto Show in January 2013. Lexus effectively previewed the new IS with the Lexus LF-CC Concept (above) at the Paris Motor show in September (although that really previews a new Lexus IS Coupe to follow) so we know the new IS is going to follow the current Lexus path of producing good looking cars (like the latest Lexus GS). This time round it looks like Lexus are going to offer a hybrid IS 3000 as the route to the heart of fleet buyers in Europe with a 2.5 litre petrol four-cylinder mated to the usual box of batteries and motor, all running through a CVT ‘box (sadly).

Tue, 07 Jul 2009The Bonneville Jaguar XFR was piloted up Goodwood's Hillclimb by Wing Commander Andy Green There were two main highlights for Jaguar lovers at Goodwood – the first showing of the Goodwood Special XKR and the chance to see the Jaguar XFR that broke the Jaguar speed record at Bonneville last year (Jaguar XFR Bonneville Video). The Goodwood Special XKR is a one-off, Lime Green creation by Jaguar designed to show the harder side of the Jaguar XKR. It features 21″ wheels, the Lime Green paint job, bold graphics and tweaks to the XKR’s 5.0 litre V8 to give an extra 20 horses and a boost to the torque.
