Up for auction is one pair of 1913 only Harley-Davidson Twin cylinders. I believe these are a matched pair but the vin is unreadable on one of the cylinders. One bore is great the other may need to be sleeved as it is pitted. There are no wrist pin grooves. They have broken fins and the exhaust valves may be stuck. I have not tried to loosen them. the threads are all real good including valve pocket and spark plug. They also have a great set of standard bore pistons and pins. If you know what these are you know how rare they are. I do not want to sell them, but need to to fund my 1915 project. I am not giving them away, but they will be a great value. ask questions. Ask for more photos, do your research. DO NOT BUY THESE if you are looking for me to ship them to you and then complain later that they are not cherry as you have made them out to be in your mind. They need work, but find another set..... Bid early bid often. See my other auctions as I will be listing a REAL! 1914-1917 chain drive rear freewheel package of parts....

The Porsche P1 is lighter, greener and more exclusive than McLaren's new hypercar

Mon, 27 Jan 2014

Long before the legendary Porsche 911 -- before, even, the Porsche 356 -- Ferdinand Porsche was tinkering with alternative powertrains and designing road-worthy vehicles. Though it wasn't the first vehicle to bear his name, the “Egger-Lohner electric vehicle, C.2 Phaeton model” was the earliest result of his efforts. Perhaps getting the jump on the modern alpha-numeric craze/plague, it was shortened to a simple “P1.” The P1 (we'll refer to it as the Porsche P1 from here on out to avoid confusion) made its first appearance in Vienna on June 26, 1898, and it didn't last long in the public eye: Before Porsche decided to pull it out and put it on display, it had reportedly been sitting in a warehouse, untouched, since 1902.
