LIQUIDATING MY 30 YEAR COLLECTION OF ANTIQUE TOOLS & TOOL CATALOGS

This is New Britain Machine Company (New Britain, CT) catalog 59M, dating from somewhere around 1961.   All the general automotive tools of the day with some specialty tools for Chevy,  Ford, automatic transmissions and a few others. Nicely illustrated & photographed catalog with 82 pages in b&w,  4" x 6" pocket - size format **PLUS price list dating to 1961.  Gloss covers are lightly scuffed, but clean inside & out, complete with tight binding and overall good condition.

New Britain was a direct competitor to all the major tooling manufacturers such as Bonney, Herbrand, Mac, OTC,  Snap-On and others. Through the years they have remained a strong competitor producing a quality product. Their fine old tools have survived the years and can still be found in the tool boxes of professional mechanics, at swap meets, eBay and estate sales.

Bentley Continental Supersports Convertible ISR goes to Halfords Back in February, before the Geneva Motor Show, we got a tip that Bentley were going to build a limited edition Supersports Convertible to celebrate the World Ice Speed Record, set in a Bentley Supersports Convertible by Juha Kankkunen on frozen seas in Finland. The heads-up we got what pretty much on the money. But we were told that the exterior of the ISR would get red highlights to make it look a bit ‘racy’.

Last week, we offered two options for your eternal torment, a straight-8 Packard and a straight-8 Buick, and we just love those classic Detroit cars! So much so, in fact, that we're going to stick with Detroit (well, Detroit and Kenosha, if you want to split hairs) and fast-forward the calendar a couple of decades to the Golden Age of Muscle Cars.

Radical Cup comes to North America

The 2013 Radical Cup USA schedule was announced on Wednesday. The brand new gentleman-racer series will host 12 events over six weekends, beginning in March at Miller Motorsports Park in Utah and is set to wrap up in September at the Monticello Motor Club in New York. The 270-hp Radical SR3 and 460-hp Radical SR8 already compete in one-make series’ in Europe, Australia and the Middle East.
