Mon, 08 Jun 2009Bentley Continental GT caught sporting gubbins that looks suspiciously like a Hybrid power train So far, Bentley has opted for Bio-Fuel as a good starting point for going ‘Green’, but if the spy shot you see here is anything to go by, it looks like we could be seeing a Bentley Hybrid before too long. Snapped in Spain, where many car makers do hot weather testing in Europe, this Bentley Continental GT is definitely sporting something major in the mechanical department that doesn’t fit with the stock car. The guy who snapped the car also said it was running very quietly – perhaps indicating it was in electric cruise mode.
New NHTSA guidelines recommend vehicle systems disable text entry, videos while driving
Tue, 23 Apr 2013Federal regulators, moving to curb distracted driving, issued final voluntary safety guidelines today that would disable certain in-vehicle functions such as manual texting, Web browsing and video phoning while driving. Automakers should do more to keep drivers' eyes on the road and hands on the wheel, U.S. auto regulators said as they released the latest guidelines meant to cut down on crashes caused by the use of electronic devices in cars.
Ford gets another NO on Volvo
Thu, 05 Feb 2009And the beat goes on… Ford has been trawling the world’s car manufacturers (and Governments) for what seems like forever, in an increasingly desperate attempt to off-load its Swedish subsidiary, Volvo. They appear to have tried everyone from the Swedish Government to BMW and Mercedes, with a fair dose of Chinese firms in between (has Ford offered to sell it to you yet? Don’t worry, it won’t be long!) And now Reuters are reporting that yet another Chinese Car Co has declined the offer.
