Antique Car Repair Adjusting Bars by:

SPRINGTRAMP ELIMINATOR  CO.
DEBOLT AND PLUM STS.
NEWTOWN, OHIO

Box is hard to read:

ONE PAIR KNEE ACTION LOWER CONTROL ARM ADJUSTING BARS.

Will fit all cars with spring type knee action. (Looks like it says No. 24)

(There is a diagram with a cross shaft, front control arm and rear control arm - and the areas are pointed out where there can be wear to the control arm. There is also a pry bar and what looks like the control arm adjusting bars).

The diagram reads:
WHEN MOVING PRY BAR UP AND DOWN. NOTE MOVEMENT HERE (WEAR HERE).

Instructions: Run car on hoist, put block under front wheels to give room to work under car. In either case, weight of car must be on wheels when Adjusting Bars are installed to get proper adjustment. Center punch control arms about  1/16" deep, 14 1/2" from cross shaft, as shown in diagram. Set Adjusting Bars in place and expand until a fair tension is exerted. Place long bar under front and over rear control arm as shown in diagram. Lift bar up and down and take up on Adjusting Bars until all wear is taken up. Tighten eight bolts that hold cross shafts to frame, and lubricate.

(Adjusting bars measure 9 1/8" long).

Kia Carens MPV (2012) first official pictures

Wed, 19 Sep 2012

Kia has taken its compact family wagon, the Carens back to the drawing board with the release of the all-new 2012 model, bringing it up-to-date with Kia’s current design direction.   The Carens is the last model in Kia’s line up to receive the ‘tiger nose’ facelift under the direction of chief designer Peter Schreyer, best known for designing the Mk 1 Audi TT.   The revised Carens takes on a sharper, more ‘athletic’ shape than the former chunkier model, offering a more practical, cab-forward take on the sportier looking new Ceed on which it is based.
