This is PROTO Tools Professional Quality Catalog no. 6020 dated 1960.  Full size (8 1/2" x 11") format, 77 pages in part color, VERY nicely illustrated tools. Gloss paper covers lightly scuffed and rear cover has some folding, interior clean and bright, stapled binding tight and overall very good condition. PROTO was a direct competitor to all the major tooling manufacturers such as Bonney, Cornwell, Herbrand, Mac, OTC,  Snap-On and others. Their tools can still be found in the tool boxes of professional mechanics, at swap meets, eBay and estate sales.

The company had planned a glitzy British launch at the end of summer 2008, spearheaded by the all-new Audi A3 rivalling Delta (pictured) that was unveiled at March’s Geneva motor show.The comeback has now been rescheduled for summer 2009. Sources cited two major reasons for the delay.

Associated Press Mercedes-Benz has been found guilty of fixing prices of car parts in China – with BMW, Audi and Chrysler also facing penalties. China’s state news agency, Xinhua, reports that the German manufacturer has been found guilty of using its power to control the prices of parts. The Chinese government is cracking down on monopolies and has been accused of being too harsh on companies from abroad.
