General Motors has also issued a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) 04-03-08-006G. This TSB explains that the electronic power assist motor gear must be inspected for backlash as the power assist motor gear causes a very similar clunk feeling and noise as the intermediate steering shaft. The intermediate steering shaft can easily be checked for play and identified as a failure by doing a proper inspection. If you install this part and still have clunking, most likely you will need the power assist motor assembly. A recall exists in the USA to replace this pump at no charge if your vehicle is included, See Recall 10V073000. This part is also available for purchase see APDTY 112803. Also the sway bar end links, control arms, and remaining steering and suspension components should be inspected for wear and tear as all of these components are common to fail and cause suspension and steering noises.

The army-grade Duster has been given a degree of bulletproof plating, as well as under-body armour for the most vulnerable areas like the engine and fuel tank. However, it’s the remote-controlled machine gun mounted on the roof that’s sure to raise the most eyebrows.

The new Ford Focus ST teased The facelift for the Ford ST facelift has started, with Ford releasing a single image (above) of the new ST which will be on show at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this week, taking to the Goodwood Hillclimb in the ‘First Glance’ category. The basic facelift fodder for the new ST is what we saw earlier this year when the rest of the Focus range got a facelift, with a few new panels, bumpers, grill and lights marking out the old from the new. Ford is being coy about any power updates for the new ST, but it seems likely it will stick with the same 247bhp 2.0 litre as the current model and the same output.
