Update 12/2/2010: Citroen has now revealed the DS 4 in concept form as the Citroen DS High rider Concept. The publicity for the push by Citroen for a more up-market position in car buyers minds started in earnest when details of the Citroen DS Inside Concept were first revealed back in February. That was followed up by the reveal of the DS Inside Concept at Geneva the following month, followed by more details of the Citroen DS3 in the following months.

Latest news: what Magna's deal means for GM Europe

Canadian parts giant Magna this afternoon struck an agreement in principle to buy stricken GM's European arm, Opel and Vauxhall. The agreement has not yet been confirmed publicly and is still in the early phase, but brings to an end an uncomfortable round of talks in the past 48 hours which saw a spat between American negotiators and European politicians, and Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne walking away from the table.Once sealed, the deal must first be approved by the German government, which is to provide interim funding to the new owners. However, Italian car maker Fiat isn't yet totally ruled out of the running, as Magna's chief exec earlier today intimated that he could be interested in cooperation.CAR Online will update with the latest developments as they happen.

Maserati GranCabrio Sport arrives in the UK
Actually, the Maserati GranCabrio Sport arrived a few months back at the Geneva Motor Show, but it’s now washed up on our shores – just too late to enjoy the miserable summer with the rest of us by the time the first UK customer cars actually arrive in October. The main news, apart from the GranCabrio actually being for sale in the UK, is that the price is perhaps not quite as high as we’d expected. When Maserati revealed the GranCabrio Sport at Geneva we did speculate it would end up being north of £100k.
