DeKalb, Illinois, United States
ARC 2500 45 RPM RECORD CHANGER....In the days before 4 track (yes there were 4 tracks (Muntz) ...8 track (Lear Jet) and cassette players...If you wanted to hear your music you had to to listen to the AM radio...(FM only played elevator music )...and what they wanted to play with all the commercials.... You needed one of these...45 rpm record players...Boy you were top dog...If you were on a date and the girl liked country music you stacked country songs....if another girl liked Motown...get them ready....and so forth...sorry no Disco for me....It made the night more enjoyable (you get the idea)....Enough of my trip down memory lane....Back to the player This the second generation of ARC record players the first ones you had to remove the radio and get a radio repairman to cut the wires in the radio to make the player work....This is the second generation where you take the black power wire (why they used black for positive DC instead of red I don't know) and hook it up into the fuse block on the firewall....ground was picked up from the dash (back then dashes where made of metal not plastic) when you mounted the player to the dash....then take the antenna out of the radio and insert a 3 way plug (not included long since lost).... the radio male end and the antenna goes into one of the female RCA plugs and the record player goes into the last RCA female plug.....tune the AM radio to a unused station and the record will play you favorite songs upside down and when the record was over it would drop into the bottom of the case....then you could replace records with others or just push then back up and play them again....The chrome on the player is in fine shape with minor surface scratches but no pitting as you can see in the pictures....door opens as it should and the switches also work...the needle is there....BECAUSE OF ITS AGE SITTING ON THE SHELF FOR OVER 50 YEARS AND NOT BEING ABLE TO TEST IT ......NO Warranties EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED...AND BEING SOLD AS IS.....That is why I am am selling it for parts....Thank you for looking at my auction ....and happy bidding....Jim

Bentley considers S-Tronic technology for upcoming V8 Continental
Wed, 13 Oct 2010Bentley is considering equipping its future V8-powered Continental GT variant with a dual-clutch transmission that sister-company Audi badges as S-Tronic. Bentley's engineers are doing engineering studies on the feasibility of packaging the S-Tronic into the Continental's transmission tunnel. The major challenge is re-engineering and producing the GT's underbody and running gear to accept the S-Tronic, which is a different shape than that of the six-speed ZF that the W12 GT will employ.

McLaren P1: First interior photos arrive
Tue, 12 Feb 2013Ahead of its debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show next month, McLaren has sent us the first interior photos of their new hypercar. As we already know, the P1 isn’t following the almost unique 1+2 seating concept of the McLaren F1, but has opted to make it a regular two seater. That means that there will be no right hand drive cars – they’ll all be left hand drive – and McLaren are left deciding how to make the P1′s cockpit unique.
