College Exhibition: IAAD - 'My First Renault'

Transportation Design students at Istituto d'Arte Applicata e Design (IAAD) in Turin presented the results of a Renault-sponsored project with the theme 'My First Renault' in July. The students were given a fairly open brief to design a personal vision of a Renault vehicle of the near future. In addition to an exhibition in Turin, selected project work was presented at the Renault Technocentre to the directors of Renault Design.

The Audi A3 1.2 TFSI Cabriolet arrives in the UK The Frankfurt Motor Show last year was – as is often the case these days – something of a ‘Green-fest’. We had BMW’s Vision Concept and the first outing for an Audi e-tron (is that really only six months ago?), but we also had the introduction of the smallest engine Audi have ever stuck in a car – the 1.2 TFSI. Power is confirmed at 420bhp with 295lb ft peak torque available from 3000 to 7000rpm. The engine – made at the same foundry as the BMW Sauber F1 team’s V8 and derived from the same architecture as the M5 and M6 V10 – looks set to dispel any fears M purists may have had that the M3 would be transformed into a nose heavy, slow revving behemoth.
