2015 Volvo XC90 First Edition sells out in quick sticks
Sat, 06 Sep 2014The new Volvo XC90 First Edition (pictured) is all sold out Last weekend we revealed details of the 2015 Volvo XC90 First Edition, a massive spec XC90 created by Volvo to launch the new XC90. And, despite a hefty £68,000 price tag, the entire run of 1,927 First Editions sold out in just 47 hours, with the majority reserved in the first hour. That 1,927 First editions – a number that represents the year Volvo was founded – is total availability for the world market, but 55 UK buyers are on the list and will get their cars in April 2015.
Tesla Model X SUV delayed until 2015
Tue, 12 Mar 2013Tesla has revealed that its Model X SUV – based on the Model S – will be delayed until 2015 so Tesla can concentrate on Model S sales. Despite plenty of cynicism in the car industry that Tesla could deliver their Model S saloon at all, never mind at a reasonable cost, Tesla has confounded its critics by not only launching the Model S, but seemingly taking as many orders as it can handle. On the face of it, that’s not surprising.
Third of motorists admit to driving with no MOT
Wed, 21 Aug 2013A third of motorists have driven a car knowing the MOT had expired, risking fines of up to £1,000 and invalidating their insurance in the process. That’s according to a survey conducted by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), which found that of 1,000 UK motorists, 67% had driven without an MOT for up to a week, 24% for a month, 7% for six months and – shockingly – 2% for more than six months. Now we’d give the 67% who admitted driving without an MOT for a week the benefit of the doubt – it’s easy to forget the test is due.
