Wed, 22 Jan 2014Fiat Panda 4×4 Antarctica (pictured) celebrates 30 years and 500,000 Pandas If you’ve never driven a Fiat Panda – especially the Panda 100hp or Panda 4×4 – you’re missing out on a whole heap of fun; as an urban warrior and nippy little runaround there’s little to beat it still. So with Fiat are celebrating 30 years of the Panda – and 500,000 sales – with a new limited edition Fiat Panda 4×4 Antarctica – which comes with extra kit and a choice of engines – now could b e a good time to grab yourself a bit of budget Italian fun. With a name like Antarctica it’s no surprise the only choice of colour for this special edition Panda 4×4 is white, although you do get a black roof, orange detailing and 15″ alloys to break up the white body.

VW’s first small flatbed since the Mk1 Golf-based Caddy will take on trucks like the Toyota Hilux and Mitusbishi L200 when it goes on sale late in 2009. It is, but not for long. This thinly veiled concept, called simply Pickup Concept, has been designed as a search and rescue vehicle for coastguards but essentially this is what badge-conscious UK builders will be driving in 2009. The new Volkswagen corporate face with its monobrow top grille and wide mouth is likely to be carried over mostly unchanged to the cars that will roll off the South African production line, as will the surprisingly stylish interior which features hooded instruments and Audi TT-style air vents. Mechanical details are sketchy but Volkswagen claims that engines will be common-rail diesels which rules out the old-tech 2.5 five pot that powers many of VW’s current commercials.
Mugen supercharges the Honda CR-Z
Wed, 18 May 2011Honda tuner Mugen has set its engineers loose on the CR-Z hybrid, and what they came back with is a piece of machinery with supercharged power when you need it and fuel economy when you don't. Pictures of the new tuner have popped up on Honda's United Kingdom media Web site. We had high expectations for the CR-Z when it debuted.
