Reliant Robin now a classic vehicle

THE RELIANT ROBIN, a vehicle popularised by Del Boy Trotter in the Only Fools And Horses TV show, is now classed as a classic vehicle thanks to changes in the Budget. Chancellor George Osborne announced that a rolling 40-year vehicle excise duty (VED) for classic cars will come in on April 1 this year. Until now, only cars built before January 1 1973 were exempt from VED.

New Mercedes A Class advert with no mention of Mercedes – or A Class

Mercedes-Benz are launching an advert campaign for the new Mercedes A Class that features just an image and the hashtag – #NewGeneration. Traditional advertising dictates that you need to get your brand front and centre and end with strapline that states what’s on offer. But Mercedes are going a different route with the New A Class.

Ex-TVR chairman Peter Wheeler (1944-2009)

Wheeler was in charge of TVR during some of the company’s finest modern years, launching lightweight and powerful rear-wheel drive Blackpool-built sports car including the Chimaera and Griffith, and the Cerbera, Tuscan, Tamora and Sagaris with TVR's own engine. Wheeler passed away during the night on Thursday 11 June after a short illness.
