ARP has the answer, in the form of their stainless steel header studs. They're made from premium 300 stainless steel, which is rated at 170,000 psi tensile strength. That's much stronger than Grade 8 steel. These studs are also highly corrosion and heat-resistant, for long service under the toughest conditions, and they're polished to a mirror-like shine. Each kit includes the specific number of parts for the desired application, plus premium-quality washers and 12-point nuts.

Sun, 04 Mar 2012The VW Cross Coupe Concept goes diesel - and red Volkswagen are bringing the Cross Coupe Concept to Geneva, but even though it looks the same it now gets a diesel-powered hybrid powertrain. At the end of last year we saw the VW Cross Coupe Concept at the Tokyo Motor Show, an ‘Urban’ Crossover come SUV Concept from Volkswagen that looked as if it had stolen every current design trend and morphed it in to one concept. Oddly, it worked.

Although the Chinese shows are rising in importance – and amusement value – there’s something peculiarly bonkers about the biannual Japanese bash held in downtown Tokyo. So strange is the exhibition at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba City to westerners, that you don’t bat an eyelid at talking cars, vehicles with feelings, or cars designed for dogs.
Opel Adam going rallying
Wed, 21 Nov 2012Opel is adding a bit of rally credibility to the new Adam by taking it rallying with an Adam R2 rally car for a one-make cup. But perhaps GM Europe are hoping to inject a bit of performance credibility in to the uninspiring mechanical offerings the Adam currently offers with the revelation that they’re making a rally Adam prepared to basic R2 spec, which means a tweak or three from the standard production car. That means upgrades to the engine, suspension, brakes and gearbox to produce an Adam rally car that’s an affordable entry point for young drivers and Opel are aiming to compete in the ADAC Opel Rally cup with the Adam R2.
