Four artists let loose to customize Renault Twingo cabins [w/video]
Wed, 08 Feb 2012Four examples of the revised version of Renault's Twingo have been given an artistic overhaul. Four artistic disciplines – fashion, food, music and design – were represented by French fashion designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Italian chef Davide Scabin, former Girls Aloud member Nicola Roberts and German designer Nils Holger Moormann, respectively.
Caterham creates next car online
Wed, 05 Nov 2008By Ben Whitworth Motor Industry 05 November 2008 10:08 Caterham has turned to cyberspace to design its next model – the low-volume carmaker is calling on fans around the world to log onto a bespoke website to submit their ideas and designs for every aspect of the new Caterham, before ultimately voting on what makes it to the final vehicle. The website – www.splitwheel.com - will act as a forum, hosting blogs, articles and what Caterham calls ‘a Wikipedia-style user-edited knowledge base’ to turn user input into a workable vehicle design. A comprehensive voting system that covers all aspects of the car will then be initiated, and once the final specification is agreed a prototype will be produced with initial production slated for 2011.
New high-performance VW Golf R Evo and Polo R under consideration
Fri, 24 Jan 2014It has not been two minutes since the Volkswagen Golf R was unveiled, but that hasn’t stopped an even more hardcore Golf R Evo concept being mooted – the more focused prototype could make its debut at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show in April. It’s not the only go-faster Volkswagen that’s under consideration, either. Linking in with its assault on the World Rally Championship, VW is also analysing a potential 250hp, four-wheel-drive Polo R variant.
