European car sales down 5.2%

EUROPEAN UNION car sales are still sagging despite the return of modest economic growth. For the first eight months of the year, passenger car sales were down 5.2% to 7.84 million compared with the same period last year, the European Auto Manufacturers' Association said - the lowest January-August figure since the group started keeping records in 1990. New car registrations in August fell five per cent from a year ago to 653,872.

One last hurrah: the 1994 MG RV8

It's tough to imagine the British car scene in North America without the MGB, which remains a popular starter classic and is available in every price range imaginable--and some price ranges that aren't. The iconic MGB was in production from 1962 until 1980, an entire era that saw relatively few changes introduced to the well-proven design. Ferrari F70 spotted testing in Europe

A Ferrari F70 mule was spotted testing in Europe recently, and it's now sporting a Daimler SP250 or '58 Packard look at the front end. Unlike the Daimler and the Packard, this catfish is long, wide and low. We're still expecting the F70 to be powered by a V12 with a KERS-like hybrid system.
