Ford V8 with Tilton Flywheel & 3 Disk AP Clutch (hex)

The importance of pressure plate bolts in a racing or hi-performance street application cannot be emphasized nearly enough.  These fasteners play a key role in both the performance and safety of a vehicle.  Because of this, ARP has developed special pressure plate bolts that are application specific to ensure the optimum grip length.

The Pro Series bolts, originally developed for NASCAR competition, are stronger and rated at 200,000 psi.

EPA makes it official--greenhouse gases are pollutants

Tue, 08 Dec 2009

On the eve of an international climate summit, the EPA on Monday formally declared greenhouse gases to be dangerous pollutants, strengthening President Barack Obama's hand and laying the groundwork for a new 35.5 mpg standard for light vehicles. The finding is likely to have a greater impact on electric utilities, oil companies and manufacturers than on the auto industry. The EPA's scientific finding reported that these gases “are the primary driver of climate change,” which can intensify heat waves and increase ozone pollution linked to asthma and other respiratory illnesses.

Now the Germans say no to Volvo

Sat, 03 Jan 2009

As we’ve reported in the last few weeks, Ford has been trying its best to offload Volvo, the last of its ‘Prestige’ Euro marques. The Chinese looked to be the best bet, but it seems that that is going nowhere at the moment (the Chinese are probably waiting for Ford to get in to an even deeper mess with the hope of picking up Volvo for peanuts) and now its seems that Ford’s fire-sale has drawn more blanks. Now the Germans turn down the chance to own Volvo Der Spiegel reports that Daimler (Mercedes-Benz) boss Dieter Zetsche has revealed that Daimler has turned down the chance to buy Volvo, and has also revealed that BMW has had a good look, and reached the same decision.
