ARP tapered piston ring compressors are CNC-machined from 6061-T6 billet aluminum tube material and feature a true radius for each individual bore diameter. They're also relieved to accommodate wire O-rings on the bottom. Type 3 anodizing is used for long life, and each bore size is prominently engraved in 3/4 in. high numbers for easy identification. The true-radius design of ARP tapered ring compressors is far superior to conventional tapered devices, and they're widely acclaimed by professional engine builders. Toyota adds i-Road to urban mobility trials
Tue, 01 Oct 2013TOYOTA has added its futuristic i-Road concept to its “Ha:mo” urban transport trials. It is the latest vehicle to be added to the rapidly expanding scheme, which is being held at the so-called Toyota City; Toyota’s huge presence in Japan’s Aichi Prefecture. The Ha:mo (Harmonious Mobility network) trials are an attempt to develop a sophisticated, integrated transport system for cities, making use of electric vehicles wherever possible but with the key emphasis on encouraging travellers to use the ‘most appropriate’ means of transport at all times.
Jaguar XF gets a few tweaks for 2014 MY
Tue, 11 Jun 2013The Jaguar XF gets a new engine and tweaks for 2014 In many ways the Jaguar XF is Jaguar’s most complete car, and significant updates since it launched in 2008 have kept it fresh and appealing. But the tweaks Jaguar has wrought for 2014 are relatively minor as the XF gets towards the end of its current cycle, the most significant of which is an upgrade to the 2.2 litre diesel engine. The 2.2 litre ECO2 engine is a replacement for the 161bhp entry-level diesel in the 2013 XF and gets revised cooling and bigger EGR valves which have conspired to improve official economy, and therefore reduce emissions (to 128g/km) handily putting the 2.2 XF in to a lower BIK band (down from 21 to 19 per cent).
Rolls Royce Wraith interior first photos & RR V16 Roadster planned
Tue, 19 Feb 2013We have the first interior photos of the Rolls Royce Wraith Coupe, and RR seem to be planning a V16 Roadster for 2017. This tease from RR on the Wraith is a pair of interior photos that don’t give away much, but do show the levels of elegance RR is working in to the Wraith, despite its sporting pretensions. We get a photo of the clock in the Wraith, a simple analogue white face with Blood Orange needle tips, a chrome bezel, Piano Black surround all housed in a chrome plate with ‘WRAITH’ and ‘RR’ prominently displayed.
