Webinars: Realism & Product Correctness in Realtime from RTT
Mon, 06 Dec 2010The quality of 3D visualization has improved markedly in recent years as a result of new algorithms – allowing design decisions to be made on the basis of virtual models. Products, including the interior and exterior design of a vehicle, can now be portrayed very realistically using high-end visualization software. This webinar, entitled 'Realism & Product Correctness in Realtime', demonstrates how product lifecycles in the automotive industry – which range from design, development and production through to marketing and sales – is becoming increasingly digital.
Land Rover Discovery – 20 years old +video
Mon, 16 Nov 2009Land Rover Discovery 4 - The latest iteration of the Discovery It’s a sure sign that I’m getting old. Policeman look like they’ve just come out of short pants (which in the case of the ‘Plastic’ (community) police, some have); white cars look old-fashioned (although I’m coming to terms with that one); my arms are only just long enough to read the newspaper and my back goes out more than I do. Cadillac CTS Coupe (2010) – Official
Mon, 23 Nov 2009Cadillac will launch the CTS Coupe in Spring 2010 Having let the cat out of the bag over plans for a range-topping Cadillac CTS-V Coupe (and the CTS-V Wagon) the other day, GM has now released official detail of its less powerful sibling, the CTS Coupe, which will launch in the Spring of 2010, so as is American convention we should probably call it the 2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe (the American car industy is as bad as the fashion industry – everything is ‘Next Year’). The CTS Coupe joins the Saloon (Sedan) and Estate (Wagon) to complete the three model lineup for the CTS, and is by far the best looking of the bunch, although to be fair both the saloon and estate are attractive in a bold, American kind of way. Sitting a couple of inches lower than the saloon, the Coupe is also a couple of inches shorter.
