ATLAS OF PILOT CHARTS FOR SOUTH PACIFIC OCEAN,
This is the complete Atlas of Pilot Charts for the South Pacific Ocean current edition on CD in searchable Adobe Acrobat PDF format. This new digital copy is exactly the same as the hard copy edition published by the US government (#107) that sells for $40 on chart sized paper. You save not only on cost, but also storage space! Few sources of information are more important to offshore sailors than an Atlas of Pilot Charts -- and they are fascinating to study even if you never go five miles from port. In essence, they contain frequency and strength of wind from every direction, month by month, for every 5º square of sea. Their data are the result of hundreds of years of observation by mariners. Each atlas contains a pilot chart for every month of the year. To view these files, you will need a current version of the Adobe Acrobat PDF Reader. This boat navigation software CD is for PCs and is brand new, never used. |

On Jan. 17, 1949, the Holland America Line Westerdam pulled into New York Harbor from Rotterdam carrying the seed of an automotive empire. It had been only four years since Volkswagen resurrected operations in Wolfsburg, the factory heavily ruined by Allied forces and now under the command of Major Ivan Hirst.

The Mercedes G-Class is getting a major overhaul – but not until 2017
The Mercedes G-wagon has been with us for 35 years, and despite its rather dated underpinnings and looks it sells well enough for Mercedes to keep on churning out the G-Class for those with ‘military’ wants – and the posers. But even the G-Class is not immune from the massive changes that have taken place in cars in recent years, so Mercedes is planning a major overhaul of the G-Wagon for 2017 – just after Land Rover arrive with a new Defender. The 2017 G-Class is going to be wider – by around 100mm – to make it more stable, allow a more sophisticated front suspension and make more room in the cabin.

The lowdown
This gorgeous creation is the new Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione. It looks familiar because it's the production version of the 2003 concept car which bore the same name. Alfa has confirmed that the 450bhp V8 coupe will go on sale in September next year.
