Fiat gets approval to purchase Bertone coachbuilding business

Fiat S.p.A.'s bid for Carrozzeria Bertone S.p.A. was approved Thursday by the Italian government. Fiat will invest $215.9 million (150 million euros) over three years in the struggling contract manufacturer that has produced models ranging from the Lamborghini Miura to the Volkswagen Polo during its 96 years in business.

Lotus sues Dany Bahar for £2.5 million

Lotus are suing ousted CEO Dany Bahar for £2.5 million to recover the cost of his expensive lifestyle billed to Lotus. It seems DBR-HiCom, new owners of Proton (which own Lotus), took one look at the mess in Hethel and dumped Bahar, replacing him with engineer Aslam Farikullah to try and re-focus Lotus on its core products and engineering instead of pursuing Bahar’s fantasy of churning out the biggest range of luxury supercars of any car maker on the planet. That ousting led to Bahar issuing proceedings against Lotus for £6.7 million in August for wrongful dismissal (which gives you some idea of Bahar’s estimate of his own worth).

The new BMW M6 Coupe revealed ahead of a Geneva 2012 debut The 2013 BMW M6 has been revealed ahead of a Geneva 2012 debut. The M6 Convertible will debut in April in New York. The 2013 BMW M6 Coupe and the new BMW M6 Convertible have been revealed this morning ahead of motor show debuts, with the M6 Coupe landing at the Geneva Motor Show next month, and the M6 Convertible keeping some of its powder dry until the New York Auto Show in April.
