genuine Audi A6 A7 4G A8 4H Night Vision Assistant Retrofit kit 4H0980552Genuine Audi Night Vision Vssistant improves safety when driving in twilight conditions and after dark: it shows people and animals in front of the vehicle more brightly, and gives the driver visual and acoustic warnings if it detects people too close to the vehicle. Its key feature is a thermal imaging camera that is located at the front end of the vehicle behind the left Audi ring. As a far infrared system (FIR), the night vision assistant's camera responds to the heat that objects give off. A computer converts the information into black-and-white images and shows them on the central display between the speedometer and rev counter in the instrument cluster. This far infrared technology can cover a range of up to 300 metres – well beyond the range of the high-beam headlights – and the lights of oncoming vehicles and other light sources do not interfere with it. At a distance of up to 100 metres, detected people are highlighted by yellow markings in the display. If the control unit identifies a hazard, e.g. if a pedestrian crosses the street close to the car, the person is shown in red in the image and a warning gong sounds. Tue, 21 Oct 2008On the weekend of October 11, the San Diego Automotive Museum celebrated its 20th Anniversary by hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a special exhibit, Ferrari: Cavallino Rampante - Italy's Prancing Horse. The Saturday evening event was the grand opening reception for 15 rare Ferraris on exhibit, joined by designs created by retired automobile designers and local high school students. The extravagant evening celebration also served as a finale of two-day Ferrari Road Rally event, inviting owners of Ferraris from various eras to show their cars - which ranged from a 1967 275 GTB and 1968 Dino to a 360 Challenge Stradale. Over a dozen Ferraris parked in front of the museum served as a pleasant prelude to some of marque's memorable examples displayed inside: a collection of rare Ferraris that includes a 1952 212 Europa, 1955 250 Boano Prototipo, 1956 250 GT Zagato, 1957 250 Testarossa, 1959 410 Super America and 1965 275 GTB/Competizione.
GM recalls midsize cars for transmission fix
