Mercedes F1 at Edinburgh’s Race the Runway
Fri, 22 Aug 2014The 2012 Mercedes F1 car will be at Edinburgh’s Race the Runway 2014 event In 2013, Mercedes decided to cough up sponsorship to help the Race the Runway event at Edinburgh Airport, and it must have been a success as Mercedes are back again as event sponsors. The Race the Runway event is an opportunity for car owners to blat their cars down the runway at Edinburgh Airport and generate cash for a worthy cause – the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice in Glasgow. Participants have to cough up a £300 donation to the charity to get the chance to see what their car can do, for which they get a free lunch as well as the thrill of flat-out driving on the runway, and can even bring a passenger along.
Petrol cars twice as likely to fail MOT on emissions
Thu, 07 Nov 2013The latest MOT test data shows that 26.2% of all cars tested fail on excess exhaust emissions – and surprisingly petrol cars fail more than twice as often as diesels in this part of the annual roadworthiness test. According to the official Vehicle Operator and Standard Agency (VOSA) figures, which cover all of 2010 and the first nine months of 2011, 9.7% of petrol cars failed to meet MOT emissions standards compared to just 3.9% of diesels. Sebastian Vettel goes Hollywood in Web series
Fri, 11 May 2012Red Bull-Infiniti driver Sebastian Vettel made his small-screen debut on Friday in a new series from Infiniti named Kung Fu Vettel: Drive of the Dragon. Vettel stars alongside actress Celina Jade in the short-action commercial/film. This is the first in the series that eventually will include Red Bull teammate Mark Webber.
