In 1969, a few years before it was sold to Fiat, Abarth and Pininfarina worked together to develop an attractive sports car prototype. Simply called Abarth 2000 after the displacement of its engine, this red beauty features a sleek wedge silhouette with a roof only 970mm from the ground. The Mitsubishi PX-MiEV Concept - a hybrid crossover The ‘PX’ bit of the name is Mitsubishi’s code for Plug-in Hybrid Crossover (saves a bit of room on the boot lid), so the PX-MiEV gets a 1.6 litre 4-pot to drive the front wheels together with an electric motor. An additional electric motor is used to power the rear wheels when circumstances dictate. The PX-MiEV can also run for up to 30 miles in EV mode, after which it turns in to a hybrid to drive and recharge the batteries.

Motorists Still Paying A High Price At The Pumps

THE LATEST report from the AA highlights the depressing fact that motorists continue to cough up when filling up at the pumps. According to the motoring organisation, average petrol prices at the pumps are staying "stubbornly above" 130p a litre despite discounts in many areas. While a number of fortunate motorists have been getting petrol for around 128p a litre of late, the average price nationwide is 130.46p a litre, the AA said.
