Here is a lightly used matched pair of Lucas HF1748 horns that were specified for Austin Healey 100-4 (BN1 and BN2), 100M, 100-6 (BN4, BN6), and 3000 Mark I (BT7, BN7), Jaguar XK 140, XK150, Mark VII VIII & IX, Mark II, and Aston Martin DB3/S.  These were removed from a nearly new car being converted to racing back in the early 1960s.  The horns are in the correct original factory polychromatic grey color, ready now for installation in your car.  They are fine enough for a show car in my opinion, probably the best original ones outside of horns that are NOS in their original boxes.  Both have brass identification plates on the back showing them to be Lucas part number 70063 and 70071, model HF1748H, manufacture date April, 1960, a totally matched pair.  The only issue with these is that the Lucas brass plaques with the part numbers, model numbers, and manufacture date on it is stamped a bit off center, but that is monor and factory original that does not degrade the horns for judging.  These are exceedingly rare in this original condition as close to NOS as possible, most of them had their alloy rims attacked by the elements and intergranular corrosion resulting in cracking and missing pieces.  These horns have none of that and both have been bench tested and they perform flawlessly.  Good luck bidding!!   Please be sure it is correct for your application before bidding.

2015 Volvo XC90 photos leak early

Tue, 26 Aug 2014

New Volvo XC90 photos leak out Update: 2015 Volvo XC90 Officially revealed Perhaps Volvo’s Coupe Concept of the new XC90 wasn’t a great move, as it raised expectations that the new 2015 XC90 would be a properly stylish SUV. In fact, it’s a new car that looks more like an evolution of the 2002 XC90 than a cutting-edge new model. But that’s probably being a bit churlish as the new XC90 certainly offers lots of new tech, new engines and a raft of technology that makes the new XC90 very cutting-edge.

Umeå Institute of Design degree show 2011

Fri, 10 Jun 2011

The annual graduation exhibit for the Umeå Institute of Design began last week. With just nine automotive students amongst those receiving honors, the concise yet elaborate degree show was unequivocally Scandinavian. Marking the show's opening, the two-day event featured a presentation by Richard Seymour (of Seymour Powell), student presentations, copious amounts of local cuisine, and a break-dancing interlude.

New Mercedes SL 65 AMG – the video

New Mercedes SL 65 AMG on video With the 2013 Mercedes SL 65 AMG now revealed, Mercedes has sent us a video of the new range-topping SL in action. We had the reveal of the new Mercedes SL 65 AMG earlier this week ahead of a public debut at the New York Auto Show in April. And despite the hope that Mercedes would continue its line of V12 range-toppers in the new SL, we still had our doubts it would happen.
