This auction is for the fiberglass racing hood only!! You are not bidding on the car.   I was told this is a Thomas Denner hood, and has been on the car since sometime prior to 1976.  I have not been able to verify that.  Hood needs some minor repairs.  One hood prop rusted stuck, and when hood was pulled open the mount was pulled out of the fiberglass, hence the board holding the driver's side of the hood up. 2 little braces inside that don't go anywhere.  One crack in the front, both lower edges cracking/separated.  No grill (not sure if it ever had one). See pictures.  Needs repainted also. No shipping, payment at time of pickup.  Is much lighter than the stock steel bonnet, but still at the right height to crack you in the head when you are trying to work on the engine.    Contact me with any questions or concerns before bidding.

Peter Schreyer introduces Kia's new Sportage

Mon, 26 Jul 2010

It's a sign of just how significant the new Sportage is for Kia that rather than flying UK journalists to an international launch location the company instead rented a boutique hotel in London's Notting Hill, created a sketch gallery in the basement and flew in key members of the car's development team to meet the press — who were then lent some the first new Sportage's in the UK to test for a month. One executive present at the event was Kia's Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Design Officer, Peter Schreyer. Car Design News was invited to meet with Peter to talk about his role at Kia and for him to talk us through a vehicle Kia is billing as the first to be designed entirely under his tenure.

MINI compares Classic Mini to Porsche 911

Thu, 06 Jun 2013

The Classic Mini & Classic Porsche 911 A comparison between the classic Mini and the Porsche 911 may not be the most obvious, but that hasn’t stopped MINI jumping on the 911′s 50th anniversary year with a comparison between the two iconic cars. MINI assert that the similarities between the classic Mini and the 911 are based on their ‘Forever Young’ ethos (which is, in no small part, down to the fact both are still clearly similar to the original design)  and their performance. The Mini arrived before the 911 – Mini in 1959, 911 in 1963 – but both turned the car world on its head with a delightful turn of design, speed and appeal, with the original Mini ending up selling 5.3 million and the, still continuing, 911 starting to close in on a million sales.
