These are "period correct"
for your

1959-1965 Corvette
327 C. I. Engine

One pair nice used and unrestored original GM Corvette 327 7-finned aluminum valve covers.

These are "Period Correct" for your March, 1959  to about March, 1966 Corvette 327 engine.

  • In March 1959, 327 heads were changed and valve cover mounting holes were moved in, changing from a 'staggered' hole pattern to a 'parallel' hole pattern.

  • Early 1966 and later valve covers contain a casting flaw across the 'o' in Corvette.  That flaw continued through production end, is well documented, and many a classic restoration has been judged down for having the incorrect valve covers.

The condition is very nice with just some minor pitting in the aluminum.  The finish has been untouched and has never been glass beaded or blasted.  You can bead, or polish them and finish them to taste.  There are no cracks, breaks, or repairs.

The P/N is 3767493 and the name LESTER is (correctly) and clearly stamped inside.

These covers were removed from a 1955 Chevy Street Racer that the Corvette engine was dropped into around 1964.  It was parked, garaged, in 1972 and sat untouched until 2009.

Porsche Cayenne (2011) undisguised

Sun, 10 Jan 2010

The Porsche Cayenne 2010 / 2011 undisguised is ready for a launch at Geneva in March We’ve seen spy shots of the 2011 Porsche Cayenne on a pretty regular basis over the last year as Porsche works to fettle the new Cayenne before a launch at the Geneva Motor Show in March. But with that debut looming we now see shots of the new Porsche Cayenne out and about all but undisguised. Porsche are attempting to address criticisms of the current Cayenne by making the new Cayenne a much more road-focused car and by shedding weight from what is, by any standards, a heavyweight SUV.

The Vauxhall VXR8 GTS (pictured) will finally debut in January We got details of the new Vauxhall VXR8 GTS back in May, with a promise from Vauxhall that the first cars would be delivered by the end of the year. But that hasn’t happened. But now, just a bit late, Vauxhall has revealed that the VXR8 GTS will debut at the Performance Car Show alongside Autosport International next month.

New Hyundai Santa Fe goes butch with Andy Torbet

Fri, 15 Mar 2013

Hyundai has roped in extreme adventurer and TV presenter Andy Torbet as a Hyundai Brand Ambassador to demonstrate the rugged side of the new Santa Fe. In fact, Hyundai has gone about as far from fluffy stuff as it can by getting extreme adventurer, and sometime TV presenter, Andy Torbet on board as a brand ambassador for Hyundai, and throwing him a new Santa Fe to tackle his rugged adventures. Andy is busy writing a book about extreme adventures in the UK and is travelling round the country to the UK’s most remote spots, so Hyundai found this a great opportunity to get him in the new Santa Fe as he tackles stuff like rock climbing and exploring flooded mines (and not doubt lots of other butchness too).
