This auction is for a rare Gentex model # GNTX-221 auto-dimming mirror with
LED map lights. Finding a Gentex auto-dimming mirror with
map lights is very difficult because very few cars were available
with them. Here's your chance to get your hands on a
TESTED, perfectly functioning example WITH the 7 pin connector and a
decent length of wire for custom installs.
Whether you have a hot rod, rat rod, classic, modern day muscle,
domestic, import, grocery getter, truck, SUV, or anything in between, customizing your
vehicle by upgrading to a feature loaded rear view mirror like this is
one of the hottest mods going right now, and can easily be done to
anything that runs off of 12-volts with very little wiring know-how. All
it takes for this particular mirror is running one wire to a +12v source that
comes on with accessories/ignition, one wire to a constant +12v source
to operate the map lights individually/on demand, one wire tapped into a
courtesy light source that comes on when the doors open, and one wire
for ground. There is one more wire that is tapped into a
source that feeds the back up lights in order to disable the self-dimming feature when
the car is put in reverse, but most people don't bother wiring this in
as it is not an important feature, and does not effect the functionality
of the mirror in any way. I always ID the wiring on my mirrors for custom installs, so
no need to driver yourself crazy trying to find the correct wiring diagram for the
mirror.
Determining part fitment and compatibility is the sole responsibility of the
buyer/bidder! There are no refunds or exchanges, so please understand
what you're getting into before you bid. Remember
that if your car did not come with this type of mirror,
**this will be
a custom installation job**, so if you do not feel comfortable installing
it yourself, or do not want to pay a professional to do so, please do not
purchase the item. Also, look over the
pictures below carefully to make sure this mirror's mounting bracket
will fit your windshield's mounting button, or
contact a dealer/professional to verify this. Most windshield buttons are
universally sized, but there ARE variations on certain makes, models
and/or years (usually imports). If the one in your car is different, and
you still want to convert it to allow this mirror to fit in your car, please
let me know and I can provide the correct windshield button at no
additional charge. Any glass/body shop should be able to remove your
current button and install the one I provide you with for very little money,
if not free as a courtesy.
Condition
This part is in overall excellent condition both cosmetically, and in functionality.
The only blemish is a small crack in the bottom right corner of the
front half of the plastic mirror body (circled in red in the last pic
below). It is not loose at all, and doesn't interfere with functionality
what so ever. All my mirrors are also tested to make sure the auto-dimming feature
responds quickly and accurately, the map lights work and that all appropriate buttons are
functioning as they should. If you have any questions, or require more photos, please do not hesitate to contact me.

100%. However, due to the electronic nature of the part, and/or
that it will be a custom install, all mirrors sold by Incarnation Parts are
sold as is with no further guarantees, warrantees, refunds or exchanges. Please buy at your own risk.
