Local Motors announces Pacific Northwest competition winners

Local Motors has announced the results of its Pacific Northwest design competition, which asked contenders to create a vehicle for the region's inhabitants. Taking into account nature's four elements - Earth, wind, fire and water - designers the world over answered a brief that called for designs that would enable drivers in the Pacific Northwest to 'thrive in the elements'. Competition entrants were encouraged to create a vehicle inspired by the elements or specifically tailored to allow the users to better experience the elements, all while causing little to no environmental impact.

2013 Aston Martin Vanquish: New photos and new video

The new Aston Martin Vanquish is heading for Paris 2012 and Aston Martin has released new photos and video of their range-topper. The 2013 Vanquish gets extra power – it now delivers 565bhp and 456lb/ft of torque – which propels it to 62mph in 4.1 seconds and on to 183mph, sharper new looks with hints of the One-77 and lots of carbon fibre, and a new list price that is still the right side of £200k – £189,995. Kia announces new concept to debut in Frankfurt

Kia will unveil a new B-segment concept at next month's Frankfurt motor show, following from the similarly sized recent Provo and CUB concepts. The unnamed concept, previewed in two renders, is said to feature a mix of contrasting materials inside the compact car and has been designed in Europe to suit European tastes and expectations. The interior render shows a one-piece seat base for driver and passenger, pierced by a pair of braces that support the IP.
