VW Cross Polo (2010) Revealed
Fri, 19 Feb 2010The VW Cross Polo will debut at the Geneva Motor Show No, it’s not an angry version of the 2010 Volkswagen Polo but VW’s fake off-road version of the latest Polo designed to appeal to those who want a rufty-tufty car to cope with the demands of the Urban Jungle. The Cross Polo (we’d expected it to be the ‘CrossPolo’ as the Germans like to run words together, like ‘BlueEfficiency’ or EfficientDynamics, but the graphics on the Polo make it clear it’s the ‘Cross Polo’) is the latest version of the 2010 Polo to be revealed. Just this week we’ve had the 2010 Polo GTI and the 2010 VW Polo BlueMotion (see – it’s those joined together names again) and the Cross Polo makes the hat trick for pre-Geneva.
VW Beetle Dune concept (2014) first official pictures
Mon, 13 Jan 2014By Damion Smy First Official Pictures 13 January 2014 18:31 Heard of sandboarding? The VW Beetle Dune has been revealed at the 2014 Detroit motor show in what VW says is a ‘concept with near-production car design’ (wink, wink) designed for those into this new sport. The Dune was the name given to the rugged-looking version of the Polo, sold in the UK between 2004-2008, and this Beetle follows the same formula.
BMW 7-series facelift (2012) first pictures
Mon, 28 May 2012BMW has given the 7-series the mildest of mid-life facelifts for 2012 – with a series of cosmetic tidy-ups, fettled engines, extra kit and the UK's first hybrid 7-series. The ActiveHybrid7 isn't the most expensive 7-series (that's the 760Li at £101,805), but at £66,040 the petrol-electric saloon is some £8k pricier than the biggest-selling 730d. As the diesel is also cleaner and more economical, we suspect the hybrid Seven will remain a niche seller over here.
