Ferrari 458 Italia Configurator +Video
Fri, 18 Sep 2009There's now a Ferrari 458 Italia Configurator online Nothing particularly ground-breaking on the 458 configurator – it’s all pretty standard fare – but it can while away hours for Ferrari nuts around the world, as they fantasise on the perfect 458 spec whilst pretending to work on that latest report on their desk. We tried to make some really appalling combinations, but we failed. The 458 conspires to look pretty stunning whatever combination of 20 odd colours, a couple of wheel styles and variations on brake calipers you choose.
Toyota Yaris Hybrid-R concept (2013) at Frankfurt motor show
Tue, 27 Aug 2013Toyota has released fresh information regarding its 414bhp supermini concept ahead of its debut at next month’s Frankfurt motor show. The Yaris Hybrid R drivetrain features Toyota Motorsport’s 1.6-litre racing petrol engine to power the front wheels and twin electric motors generating 60bhp apiece to run those at the back, giving the car all-wheel drive and a combined output of up to 414bhp. The car also makes use of a supercapacitor inspired by Toyota’s TS030 Hybrid Le Mans racer – energy generated under heavy braking is stored and can be quickly deployed to the rear wheels for an extra burst of power.
Interior Motives Design Awards 2010
Fri, 01 Oct 2010As the doors closed to the press at the Mondial de L'Automobile in Paris, the world's top designers and automotive journalists gathered at the nearby Palais des Congrès d'Issy to watch a new generation of designers celebrate success at the 2010 Interior Motives Design Awards. Never before has the automotive industry been in greater need of fresh perspectives and innovation, and the students gathered here tonight provided both in spades - perhaps none more so than Kosin Voravattayagon of Sweden's Umeå Institute of Design, who walked away from the event with the Interior Motives Student Designer of the Year 2010 title and prize money totalling $5,000. Themed ‘Driving the Interior Revolution', this year's contest attracted entries from an incredibly diverse range of schools and nationalities - from Israel and Iran, to Slovakia and South America.
