When you think of Cadillac you tend to think of geriatric Americans coasting round God’s waiting room in Florida. Slow, old, wrinkled and not very well bolted together (and that’s just the drivers), nothing to inspire the car lover, and certainly nothing to suggest it would be a good idea to try and sell a big Cadillac saloon in the UK. Who would want to buy a slow, old fashioned Cadillac in the UK?

Ralph Gilles -- SRT boss, Chrysler vice president of design, curator of something called the "Man Van," has become the public face of Chrysler performance, carrying the legacy of Firepower engines and 428 Coronets and the Dodge Viper RT/10 into the future with the Challenger, Charger and Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8s. Since "unofficially" helping form it in 2003, Gilles has seen SRT transformed into Chrysler's most coherent performance strategy since Plymouth Rapid Transit, a company-wide force so much greater than the flagship Dodge Viper. Obviously, the big problem with the VW Scirocco is that its rear wheels aren't driven. Around a decade ago, a guy named Anson decided to solve that problem by shoving a second VW motor in the rear end of his Scirocco. Sure, VW had done it before, but this enterprising do-it-yourselfer spent just $1,800 on the build.
