There are lots of threads to making a brand succeed, and Hyundai’s stellar rise from budget ‘dofor’ to mainstream beating has meant weaving those threads together like a seamstress on a fine tapestry. From advertising to PR to product to showcase, the brand will only work if all the elements combine properly to convince car buyers there’s substance to the product.

Mon, 22 Aug 2011Previewed by the Roewe W5 Concept unveiled at the 2011 Shanghai motor show, SAIC's new SUV derived its styling from the Ssangyong Kyron, which was reworked by Ma Zhengkun (Ken Ma)'s design team. Measuring 4676mm long, 1888mm wide and 1765mm tall, the new car is similar in size to the Toyota Highlander. SAIC is calling the new vehicle a ‘cross-specialty SUV'.

Fri, 27 Aug 2010The Mazda RX-8 - fewer than 100 RHD cars left In an email that looked suspiciously like a warning from QVC that their latest pitched offering really is being gobbled up quickly, and you’ll have to pick up the phone NOW to secure their latest life-changing bit of tat, Mazda inform us that stocks of the Mazda RX-8 are down to the last knockings. We reported a bit back that the RX-8 was to make its way to the great scrapyard in the sky, another victim of the increasingly strict Euro emissions regulations - Euro 5 coming in to play in January 2011. So although the RX-8 will continue for now in some parts of the world, production in Hiroshima has ended for the UK and Europe.
