Mon, 25 Feb 2013JAC has unveiled its J3 Cross B-segment corssover, designed at the Chinese company's design center in Turin. The J3 Cross is aimed younger Chinese drivers that crave an SUV, hence the a split black grille, tough-looking bumpers that features an integrated chrome trim, while lower body cladding is incorporated to give some protection on rough roads. The raised ride height and integrated roof bars add to the J3 Cross' softroad image.
Vauxhall and Opel 'not for sale' - CEO Akerson
Thu, 28 Jul 2011GM chief executive Dan Akerson has overnight dismissed claims that its Vauxhall/Opel European division is for sale. CAR's European editor Georg Kacher, and media outlets in Germany, reported last month that German chancellor Angela Merkel had weighed in to the debate and encouraged Volkswagen to step in and take GM Europe off GM's hands. Vauxhall and Opel have also been linked to a possible sale to the Chinese.
Saab gets approval for voluntary reorganization on appeal
Wed, 21 Sep 2011...and Victor Muller smiles Victor Muller never says die, and the news that Saab has, after all, been granted the right to court protection from its creditors for a period of reorganisation has vindicated his stubborn refusal to give up on Saab. The Court of Appeal in Gothenburg has this morning overturned an earlier judgement by the District Court in Vänersborg which rejected Saab’s application to get the court’s protection during a period of ‘reorganisation’, which you can read as ‘Waiting for the dosh to arrive from China’. The news last week that Rachel Pang – a director of Pang Da, one of Saab’s putative investors – has come out in a very bullish way about the prospects for the investment by Pang Da and Youngman getting the final rubber stamp from China’s NDRC in Beijing won’t have harmed Saab’s case one bit.
