Deuce Coupes and Roadsters to highlight New England auction
Tue, 22 Sep 2009Deuce Coupes and Roadsters will invade New England this Saturday when a collection of nearly 30 iconic 1932 Fords hits the auction block. Bidders can choose from restored and unrestored versions of the Deuces. There are also more than 150 lots of original Ford parts available.
Ford to sell two concepts at auction
Tue, 09 Aug 2011Amongst the numerous one-off concept cars and rare historic vehicles set to be auctioned off at the forthcoming RM Auctions sale in Monterey, California, Ford has contributed two of its own unique concept cars to be sold. All proceeds of the sale will go to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) charity. The race-inspired 2005 Ford Shelby GR-1 concept and the 2001 Thunderbird Sports Roadster concept will be presented by the world's largest collector car auction house on August 19th in California as part of its Monterey sale. It is believed that the 2001 Shelby will sell for between $150,000 and $200,000 while the 2001 Thunderbird concept will fetch between $125,000–$175,000. There will be no reserve on the cars.
Lotus Elise Club Racer released for U.K.
Fri, 18 Feb 2011Lotus will release a stripped-down version of the Elise, called the 1.6 Lotus Elise Club Racer. However, it will be available only in the United Kingdom. The already scant two-seater loses another 54 pounds with measures such as the use of a lightweight battery, the deletion of sound-deadening material and the removal of the radio speakers.
