B&M #20412 Torque Converter, Holeshot, 2,400 rpm Stall, Chevy, TH400/TH375/TH350/TH375B, Each.

A higher than stock stall speed as delivered by the Holeshot converter will provide several advantages and benefits in vehicles with modified engines. Many modifications, particularly big cams, tend to reduce low end power and torque. The high stall converter allows the engine to launch the car at higher rpm where more torque is available. The Holeshot is generally a very good choice for the typical street machine that is looking for better launch capability and more strength. Street rods with modified engines will also benefit from a Holeshot converter. Stall speed listings are based on engines producing 230lb. ft. of torque at 2,500 rpm. More torque at 2,500 rpm will give you more stall speed, less torque at 2,500 rpm will give you less stall speed than the stall speed ratings indicated.

SoCal Speed shop wins AMBR award as hod-rodding returns to its roots

Mon, 30 Jan 2012

In a competition that "took hot-rodding back to its SoCal roots," the SoCal Speed Shop--the entity founded by original hot-rod hero Alex Xydias and now helmed by Pete Chapouris--finally won the AMBR. That's AMBR, as in, America's Most Beautiful Roadster, the most sought-after title in all of hot-rodding and the crowning glory of the Grand National Roadster Show. There is that competition at the Detroit Autorama that hands out the Ridler Award, but that is open to all manner of kustom kars.

New Subaru WRX STI: Geneva Motor Show

Thu, 06 Mar 2014

The new Subaru WRX STI on the floor in Geneva We actually had the reveal of the new Subaru WRX STI at the Detroit Motor Show earlier in the year, but Subaru’s supercar-challenging saloon car has arrived in Geneva for its European debut. The new WRX STI may have lost some of its style from concept to production, but it does still offer cracking performance at an affordable price as a supercar toy for the Playstation generation. But even though the styling is rather uninspiring, the mechanicals hold more than an appealing mix of performance and dynamics.
