Lexus takes top spot in Kelley Blue Book's 2014 Best Resale Value Awards

We've always known that used Lexus vehicles keep their values well, and this fact has been recently reconfirmed for a third year in a row by Kelley Blue Book. Lexus took the top spot in the Luxury Brand category in the 2014 Best Resale Value awards, which was actually the fourth time overall that Lexus reached that spot, 2011 being the only year when Lexus didn't place first since the award's inception in 2009. Ford Fiesta deliveries delayed, storm-damaged rail lines blamed

Ford Motor Co.'s shipments of the 2011 Ford Fiesta subcompact to U.S. dealerships will be delayed by 10 days to two weeks because of storm-damaged railroad lines. Key railroads in northern Mexico were severely damaged by Hurricane Alex on June 30 and later by Tropical Storm Bonnie, said Angie Kozleski, a Ford spokeswoman.

MPs call for parking charge reports

COUNCILS should publish annual parking-charge reports to show where revenue comes from and where it is being used, MPs said today. The use of parking charges and fines specifically to raise revenue was "neither acceptable nor legal" said Louise Ellman, chairman of the House of Commons Transport Committee. Launching a report by her committee into local authority parking enforcement in England, Mrs Ellman said: "There is a deep-rooted public perception that parking enforcement is used as a cash cow, so it's essential that local authorities apply stringent transparency." The committee said local authorities in England had a collective parking surplus in the hundreds of millions of pounds, but that the exact amount was subject to debate.
