BACK YARD ASTRONOMY STAR WATCHING - REAL SCIENCE
BOOKS, UTILITIES, TELESCOPE BUILDING !!!
ALL ON THIS ONE UNIQUE CD !!
|
|
You will be buying a Data CD containing a collection of PDF and DOC files consisting of books,
diagrams, instructions, and historical archives bringing you a wealth of information
on the Science of Astronomy with practical applications for observing, and even
building your own telescope from several different designs on the CD.Also included is a set of image files that includes sky charts and some very neat photos! [hint - the neat photos are in the 'Lunar Images' sub-folder!]
Additionally, the CD contains two extraordinary pieces of Planetarium software. These are for Windows 98SE or newer, including the 64-bit option for one of the items. Both of these are absolutely free, do not require payment now or in the future, and any "registration" is just to establish your general geographic location to make the star displays as realistic to your location as possible.
From the very beginning, Man has been fascinated by what was seen in the sky.
From the basic stuff - the behavior of the Sun in the daytime sky - to the
advances over the centuries beginning with ancient Greece and Egypt, through
the Renaissance and onward to the present day.
You absolutely will not need a degree in Quantum Physics, or very much
math beyond trigonometry at the high school level in order to get full use and
knowledge from the vast storehouse of material you will be receiving. A total of
four complete books are augmented by the two best planetarium software packages
currently available in the free-ware 'world.' Additionally you will find a
section on the CD devoted to building your own telescope. Great stuff and all
this for less than the cost of a decent lunch!!
If you are an Astronomy major, a high school student looking for "the killer science fair project," or a hobbiest wanting to enhance your knowledge this is the perfect item for you - and at an unbeatable price!

It'll be the largest collection of Automobiles Voisin ever assembled since the factory closed in 1937. Peter Mullin, collector extraordinaire of beautiful French cars of the art deco movement, has spent the last decade scouring the planet in search of some of the 200 or so remaining Voisins to feature in an exhibit of the marque opening this fall in his Mullin Automotive Museum. The result is 15 cars, one motorcycle and an airplane.

The Alpina B4 BiTurbo (pictured) debuts at Goodwood 2014
We’ve already had the arrival of the BMW 4-Series Coupe and Convertible – the replacement for the old 3-Series Coupe and Convertible – so logically the next step is an Alpina version. And here it is. The Alpina B4 Biturbo is based on the latest 4-Series and gets the N55 BMW straight six from the 435i but tweaked and fettled by Alpina to deliver 404bhp and 442lb/ft of torque.

The Aston Martin One-77 in London
We’re getting really close to the first production Aston Martin One-77 getting in to the hands of a customer (and in all probability in to the hands of the guy who’s bought 10 AM One-77s), and for the first time we’ve actually seen the One-77 out in the wild. This One-77 was taking part in a supercar run from London to Silverstone on Friday to promote the FIA GT1 World Championship which takes place this weekend at the new Silverstone track, and was the first chance to see the One-77 both on the move and away from a static display at an event. We’ve seen the One-77 in the flesh a couple of times, but each time it’s been the same car (the AM One-77 from Salon Prive last year) but this is a different car.
