Ford Fiesta ST500 (2008): first official pictures

Tue, 10 Jun 2008

By Dimitri Pesin First Official Pictures 10 June 2008 16:36 As we prepare to wave goodbye to the current Fiesta, Ford has released a special edition ST to keep interest in its hot-hatch alive. A hard job indeed, with the stunning looks of the Verve concept being carried through to the next-gen car. It hasn't stopped Ford trying hard though and, following in the footsteps of the Focus ST500 that was released in 2008, all Fiesta ST 500 models come in metallic black with a U-shaped stripe on the front. According to Ford, the new scheme is designed to echo the livery of the classic Escort RS2000 of the ‘70s.

Rolls-Royce announces new Wraith coupe for 2013

Fri, 18 Jan 2013

Rolls-Royce will launch the Wraith, a new Ghost-based coupe, at the 2013 Geneva motor show in March. We’re promised it’ll be the most powerful and dynamic model in the 108-year history of Rolls-Royce.  ‘Expect the boldest design, the most dramatic performance and the most powerful Rolls-Royce that has ever played host to the famous Spirit of Ecstasy figurine,’ said Rolls boss Torsten Müller-Ötvös when he announced the Wraith at the company’s world dealer conference in London this morning.

Saab gets a ray of hope from China

Sun, 11 Sep 2011

Victor Muller sees a glimpse of sunshine from China The saga that is the long and painful demise of Saab seemed to reach its nadir last week when courts in Sweden refused to offer the beleaguered car maker sanctuary in its protection. We thought that would be the end for Saab – despite a never-say-die appeal of the decision by Victor Muller, due to be heard tomorrow – with nowhere left to hide from trade supplier debts of €150 million, and the wrath of Sweden’s unions ready to file for Saab’s bankruptcy over unpaid wages for Saab employees. The nadir for Saab should reasonably be followed by its rapid consignment to the annuls of motoring history, but a tiny glimmer of hope has risen from Saab’s putative investors in China.
