New Mazda CX-7 – UK details and price

Mon, 12 Oct 2009

MAzda CX-7 2.2 D arrives in the UK in November It’s a decent car – the Mazda CX-7 – it just doesn’t sell all that wonderfully well. A bit like the Mazda3, which should really be up there with the Focus and Golf  in sales terms but isn’t. With the Mazda3 there wasn’t that much to fix, but the CX-7, very competent though it was, had a fault or two.

BMW M5 manual mess-up

Sat, 27 Jan 2007

By Chris chilton Motor Industry 27 January 2007 01:34 North American customers were delighted when BMW bowed to their demands for a full three-pedal manual version of the current V10 M5 super saloon, but aren’t quiet so enamoured with the finished product. The issue is not with the gearbox itself – BMW successfully replaced the European model’s seven-speed SMG box with the old-shape M5’s six-speed manual – but with the compromises that were needed to get there. Without the benefit of computer control for the opening and closing of the clutch plates, M division’s engineers couldn’t eliminate axle tramp under hard take-offs.

Wed, 04 Feb 2009

By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 04 February 2009 09:00 Aston Martin today unveils the new V12 Vantage – the production version of the 2007 concept car. No prizes for guessing this car’s remit: it’s the beautiful Vantage bodyshell (now four years old!) stuffed with six litres and 12 cylinders of Aston muscle. The V12 Vantage will be shown at the 2009 Geneva motor show on 3 March.
