When we reported that the Saab Museum – and all its cars – was up for sale last week to try and bring in a few coppers to fill the black hole that is the Bankrupt Saab’s finances, it looked as if the historic collec tion – which includes the very first Ursaab – was destined to be broken up. The fate of the Saab Museum seemed to be to be scattered to the four corners of the globe as each car was sold to the highest bidder, but it’s been revealed that the entire collection - including the Museum building - has been saved for the Swedish nation.

WITH interest still high regarding all thing F-Type, Jaguar is doing its upmost to keep the excitement at fever pitch with the release of an image of its hotly anticipated coupe variant. Expected to make its public debut at the forthcoming Los Angeles Motor Show, the tin-top version of Jaguar compact sports model promises to be as equally dramatic in the metal as its convertible cousin. Jaguar has pulled a surprise with the reveal of a more focused, and expensive, XKR ahead of the New York Auto Show – the Jaguar XKR-S GT. The XKR-S GT doesn’t get extra power – the XKR-S already has 542bhp – but it does get lots of tweaks to make it more able to use the performance it has. That means a new bonnet with more vents to improve cooling, a new carbon fibre front splitter, new rear diffuser, an aluminium undertray at the front, a whopping great spoiler at the back and bits of carbon fibre floating around.
