Dallara branches out from track to road with new 2017 sports car plan

By Georg Kacher Motor Industry 13 August 2014 09:27 Dallara - the company involved in top-end motorsport from Formula E to Indycar - is readying a sports car for the road, CAR magazine can reveal. In the new September 2014 issue on sale today, Gian Paolo Dallara, the firm's founder, confirms a back-to-basics eponymous sports car due to arrive by 2017. The Dallara road car will be extremely focused: target weight stands at just 850kg, enabled by the use of carbonfibre, just like on the Alfa Romeo 4C that Dallara helped to develop.

The Vauxhall Corsa 2011 Facelift Vauxhall – and Opel too – obviously don’t want to do too much to the Corsa at once. This time last year we had engine upgrades for the 2010 Corsa – and some economy tweaks and fiddles – but nothing in the way of cosmetic changes. Used car market pressure eases

AN INCREASE in the number of used cars coming into the market has “taken the edge off prices” and calmed some corners of the industry, according to used car pricing experts CAP. A greater influx of part-exchange cars arriving at dealers is partly responsible, and with many franchised dealers focusing for the time being on selling those vehicles, competition to acquire stock on the open market has decreased. CAP reports that the pressure has been lifted on some dealers who had become frustrated at how expensive it was becoming to source cars at fair prices.
